Living out of the lakes area, I do not know the family but wanted to extend my heartfelt condolences.
Was JUST reading the 10/29 article and went online to see if I could contact someone as my healthy, strapping son had many of the same symptoms! Reading the drs were unable to diagnose, I wanted to share! You have NO IDEA how sorry I am, just discovering I am too late.
My strong, active son had many of these symptoms and the drs struggled to diagnose him, too. They put him in a coma & he was literally on his deathbed all 30 days. Finally diagnosed it as both AARDS & Legionnaires.
For the peace of the family, I truly hope Mike was finally diagnosed.
Reach out to those you love for comfort, as you need each other more than ever at this time.
My deepest most compassionate thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

I have been a writer and photographer for the Mille Lacs Messenger for around six years now. Messin' with the news is what it is - unedited, uncensored and sometimes, perhaps, unnerving. You might find some behind-the-scenes -- story-behind-the-story type story or stuff from stories that never made the paper. There may be weekend entertainment info, maybe backstage interviews. Or even stories about my crazy family and friends and our wild adventures.
You just never know what will show up on Messin' With the News. So come back often. If you like it, tell your friends. If you don't like it, tell me. (Of course, you can tell me if you like it, too!) I am always willing to listen.

Dear Mike,
No thanks are necessary. It was a honor.
Peace.
